BBB12: Potstickers (鍋貼)

Not technically part of the Blendtec "Fresh Blends" Cookbook, these were made in the Blendtec.  And they were very tasty, especially dipped in soy sauce, rice vinegar, and hot sauce.  Rating: 7

BBB11: Curry butternut squash soup


Do not attempt this at home.  100% creativity, 0% good-flavor-combination.  I tried to improve on the butternut squash recipe (BBB3).  Epic fail.  Rating: 2


BBB10: Breakfast sausages and lemon curd pancakes

Breakfast sausages: With extra sage and thyme, this is a keeper.  Next time, add fennel.  Rating: 7.5




Lemon curd pancakes: A bit dry and puffy, but that extra zing of lemon is worth the effort of pressing a button on a blender.  Rating: 6.5


BBB9: Baba ganoush

Delightful, smooth, and creamy.  It's a good way to consume eggplant.  Rating: 7

BBB8: Peanut butter brownies

Warning: This had two full sticks of butter in it and still came out dry like a dog's treat.  Even with chocolate chips on top, it's more like biscotti than brownie.  Rating: 4





BBB7: Zucchini pineapple bread


I was suspicious of this one at first glance, but I am now a believer.  I substituted brown sugar for sucanat.  The flavor is a little muted, but it's moist and healthy.  Who knew bread could be made in a blender?  Rating: 6.5

BBB6: Popeye's (spinach) ice cream

Spinach ice cream is touted as the Blendtec "Fresh Blends" #1 recipe.  I like it.  But, it's still spinach.  Rating: 7




BBB5: Puffed Apple Pancake

Yum.  No sugar added, but so sweet and flaky!  This is a keeper for a sleepy morning.  Good served with strawberries dipped in sour cream and brown sugar.  And hummus...  Just sayin'.  Rating: 9


BBB4: Hummus

True confessions: this is dangerously good; so good that I've remade it with every other new creation over the past few days.  So, that's why hummus will continue to pop up in future pictures of other delectables (like Where's Waldo?... "where's hummus?").  Here is the original: Kalamata olive and roasted red pepper hummus.  I recommend extra cayenne pepper and lemon juice to give it more zing.  Rating: 10



BBB3: Butternut squash soup

An ingenious way to use a blender and such terrifically smooth consistency!  I recommend it with a dollop of sour cream and nutmeg...and a side of Criddle pumpkin bread.  Rating: 8
  

BBB2: Avocado ice cream

From my many excursions into Oakland Chinatown to get Avocado Ice Cream Pearl Drinks, I knew this one would be a good first attempt.  Rating: 9

This abandoned blog from yesteryear is coming out of hibernation.  I am pleased to introduce yet another completely inconsequential cooking blog series: the Blendtec Blender Blog.  Subsequent blogs will feature my attempt to create every recipe in the marvelous Blendtec  "Fresh Blends" Cookbook.  A very manly way to cook: throw it in a blender.
